    Nowadays, people rely on cell phones deep and deep because of convenience. This is a trend that cell phones play an important role in daily life for everyone, and I am no exception. A cell phone makes my life brilliant and it has become a best partner of mine. A cellphone connects to my life deeply. I divided those reasons into three main ideas to show how a cell phone affects my life. They are multitasking, amusement, and social relationship.

    First, a cellphone helps me do multitasking. I am a freshman, so I have a lot of homework to do, such as reports or English journals. I need a secretary helps me remember all the important things. A cell phone can do this for me and it can help me take notes, make phone calls, and write diaries. A cell phone is a perfect secretary for me to do me a favor. The second main idea is amusement. I like to read novels and Japanese comic books in my leisure time and it has become a habit for me to read them by my cell phone. When I have a leisure time, I can read novels and comic books by my cell phone no matter where I am. It is really the most important thing in my life. My cell phone is a soul support absolutely. Last but not least, a cellphone connects to my social relationship. No one can live without other people, so it is significant to make friends with others. A cell phone helps me contact with other people easier. I do not need to meet a friend face to face, but I still can talk to the guy. I can call my friends or chat with them through the social websites by a cell phone. That is a convenient way to keep my social relationship.

    These main ideas show how a cell phone influences my life. It helps me do countless things. It is no denying that a cell phone plays an irreplaceable role in my life. My life connects to a cell phone deeply. I cannot image how boring and terrible my life will be if my life without a cell phone. It is a part of my life. (374)

       Nowadays almost no people can live without money. Although we cannot use money to do everything, we almost cannot do everything without money. So, does money is everything? Of course money is very important because it supports our daily lives, and it is also the foundation of education. The most important thing is that it connects with our lives. They are the three main ideas that support that money is everything.

    First, money supports our daily lives. All the food we eat and all the daily necessaries we use need money. Second, it supports our desires. People have unlimited wants and money can help us get our desires. Last, it also supports our interests. Everyone has interests, and most of them need money. For example, collecting model toys, or playing video games. So money supports our demand. The second main idea is education. All the educational equipment and teaching environment need money. The more money we have, the better education we have. Moreover, if we have enough money, we can study abroad. We do not need to worry about money, so we can concentrate our attention on learning. Studying abroad is a good way to broaden our horizons and knowledge. Last but not the least, money can improve our lives. Money is an important part of social intercourse. No matter we join a club or an activity, it needs money. If we have money, we do not need to die for money. We can get much more free time and freedom to do what we really want to do. Thus, we can pursue our dreams. There is no denying that money connects with our life deeply.

   I learned that personal pronouns should be the same in the writing. It is important to make personal pronouns consistent for reader to read easier. I will not make the same mistake again.

Choose a big university or a small university

     Nowadays more and more people want to study abroad because of the globalization. However, it is not easy to choose a best university to attend. There are always two main kinds of universities to choose. One is a small university and the other is a big university. The latter is usually the popular one for foreigners to choose because it has more students and resources than a small university. As for me, I prefer the former.

     There are some reasons for why I prefer to the former and I divided them into three main ideas. The first main idea is learning. In fact, it is the basic foundation we should consider about. Learning is the most important thing when we studying abroad, so it is really significant to choose an university which makes us learn well. A small university can make one’s study more effective. It is because that teamwork usually works easier in a small university than that in a big university. Students in a small university are willing to cooperate with others. It can improve one’s study. The second main idea is life. In a small university, people are friendly because everyone knows each other. And it can build one’s confidence. It also makes one’s life connect with future. The last main idea is relationship. It always makes close feeling in a small university. One is easy to contact with others. A small university improves one’s social life more wonderful. It is easy to make friends with others. That is why I prefer a small university to a big one.     

     In fact, I think that everyone has their suitable choice, so it is up to you. If you study hard, it does not matter what kind of university you choose. Keep learning is the most important thing. Also, it can make one’s life brilliant.

Online Writing and Word Processing

     Nowadays, people prefer to use the Internet to do everything almost. So online writing has become a normal way for people to describe something they want to say. And word processing is a way to make the text much more complete. They have different strong points. That is why I need to compare one with the other.

    Here I am going to compare online writing with word processing. First, it is a good way to describe one’s opinions and feelings to other people on online writing. In contrast, word processing is private that the writers can say their true feelings privately. Second, using online writing is a good way to make friends with those people who have same feelings or viewpoints with the writer. However, if the writer in a place without the Internet, he or she cannot use online writing. On the other hand, word processing needs no the Internet. So it can be used in everywhere if you have the system. At last, word processing will help the writer to correct wrong words immediately. Also, online writing will let the writer know others viewpoints, and it can also help the writer to correct their mistakes by other people’s reflections.

    I prefer word processing to online writing because the former is much more private than the latter. There are three reasons for why I prefer word processing to online writing. The first reason is that if I have feelings about something, I can turn on my computer and type words I want to say on word processing. It is more private than online writing. Sometime we have some secrets that we do not want to let us know, however, we need a way to vent our feelings. For this reason, word processing is a good way. The second reason is that it needs no Internet. Although I am in a place without the Internet, I can use the word processing as usual. It is convenient. Last but not the least, word processing can help us to correct the mistake. It is a nice way to stop you from making the same mistakes again and again. The three points are reasons why I prefer word processing.

 Summary:

   Little Tree’s Sideways Dreams is written by Jessie Huang, and it is illustrated by Miriam Wang and Riva Chen. The leading character is a little tree that wants to travel the world. A little bird usually tells it that how gorgeous the world is. It always imagines the scenery of the other parts of the world which it can never see as a tree. One day, it comes up with a crazy idea. It is going to grow in a different way. The little tree starts to bend its trunk day by day. Year after year, the little tree finally grows up and it becomes a sideways tree. It can touch the sea, however, seawater makes its leaves withered. The little tree is dying, at that time, a human family save it and they help it.

Reflection:

   The book is attractive. It has lots of beautiful pictures and it is easy to read for children. In the story, the big trees told the little tree that how to grow up. They did not agree with the little tree’s crazy dreams. In my opinion, the big trees are just like adults and parents in human’s world, especially in Asia. They always told their children how to do or what cannot do. However, children have their own life. Just like the little tree in the story, it chose a totally different way to lead its life. There is generation gap between the big trees and the little tree. I think that if parents read the book as bedtime story, they can think deeply about the meaning behind the appearance of the story. In addition, it can also make children to understand that it is important to have a dream, however, finding a correct way to reach the dream is significant, too. At last, I want to say that this is really a good story for both children and adults to read.

Summary :

      It has been five years since Mia, the princess of Genovia found that she was the princess of a small country in Europe. Now she is about to back to her father's hometown and she is going to take over the throne. However, there is a big problem between her and the throne. That problem is that she has to marry a man before she becomes the queen of Genovia or the crown will be inherit by the second-in-line to the throne, Lord Nicholas Devereaux. For this reason, she has to find a perfect husband in a month as soon as possible. After a series of siftings, an impeccable man is found, and they are going to get married. However, Mia falls in love with Nicholas, the man who covets her crown and their scandal were showed by paparazzi. Now, she needs to make a decision between her true heart and her responsibilities.    

Reflection :

      It has been a long time since I watched Princess Diaries. I am surprised that it has a sequel. In fact, I prefer the former leading man to the latter. It was a pity that he and Mia did not be together in Princess Diaries 2 to me. After watching this movie, I think it is really a good story for girls to see. Almost every girl wants to be a princess just like Mia. She is not a model princess, but she is brave and sparky. She always follows her true feelings no matter what will happen. I like the words that “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important.” which was written by Mia’s father in the letter for Mia. In the movie, the sentence was also be mentioned when Mia was unsure whether she accept arranged marriage or not. The words gave she a way to decide what should she do. I do not think that the movie is only a love story. It is much more than that. In the story, Mia is not a usual princess like in fairy tales. She teaches girls that a princess does not mean beautiful, rich or smart, but courageous. I think that is what a princess looks like.
